EYE OF THE PETE  Exactly four of these adjectives have been used to describe Pie-Eyed Pete: Inspired. Groundbreaking. Cutting-edge. Tardy. Genius. Churlish. Puckish. Amish. Under-medicated. Over-medicated. Eggy.

Who is this Pie-Eyed Pete? What makes him tick? Why couldn’t he write his own bio instead of asking me to do it? Unfortunately, these questions may never be answered. What we do know, however, from old tax returns, police reports and his Ask Jeeves search history, is that Pie-Eyed Pete loves to make music. In fact, he has been making music since the late 70s, back when music was known as “flammjamm.” Over the years, he has “plucked the ol’ four-stringer” in numerous bands, including Gin Blossoms, Ike Reilly, Lost Luggage, Diplomat 6 and the all-bass 80s supergroup, “Frankie Say Slap It!

His seventh, latest, and greatest release, “Workingman’s Paradise” features a stable of seasoned Chicago music veterans along with a dozen rip-roarin’, beer-pourin’, leave-‘em-wantin’-more’n’ tunes.

Recorded in Libertyville, IL and Chicago IL by the supple hands of Pie Eyed Pete, Chris Harden and Ed Tinley and rounded out with strong supporting performances by luminaries Ike Reilly, multi-talented John Pirruccello, long time guitarist Jim O’Donnell and his trusted drumming friend Phil Levin, Workingman's Paradise is a disk that is equal parts tobacco-soaked vocals and whiskey-soaked guitars, the result is a heady brew of a life lived to its limits, both with and without regrets. It’s a little bit country, a little bit rock and roll and a whole lot of bar room sing along!

The lead single “Lay Me Down” is a beautiful melodic journey into the human condition and “Pot In My Car” is a song about the struggles of making it in this increasingly chaotic and corporate world…both are getting fantastic response at shows and by critics alike.

When he is not doing his own thing, he is also the bassist in the acclaimed and explosive Ike Reilly Assassination, whose new record, Born On Fire, is blowing up as we speak!. Catch him this summer on tour with Ike! Check out the shows page for all tour dates.

Pie-Eyed Pete’s natural habitat is the northern wilds of Chicagoland, where he resides with his mate, Sheila, and their spawn, Peter John.
